An American Werewolf in London

Released - 1981
Genre - Horror, Comedy, Fantasy
Director - John Landis
Starring - David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, Griffin Dunne, John Woodvine, Don McKillop, Paul Kember

David and his friend Jack are backpacking in Northern England and they decide to take shelter at a small village pub ominously called The Slaughtered Lamb. The locals are less than friendly and advise the boys to stay off the moors and beware of the full moon. Ignoring the advice they run into trouble and Jack is savagely gored before the beast turns on David. He wakes up in a London hospital three weeks later and when the next full moon rolls around he transforms into a werewolf in a superb and memorable scene. While the direction and acting performances are strong the real strength of the film is the sharp and witty script which works perfectly. An American Werewolf in London is essential viewing for any horror fan.
