This film is like an especially whacked out episode of Aussie soap Neighbours in which an unscrupulous drug company are trialling their latest development on the residents of a quiet cul-de-sac. Their drug is supposed to enhance the body but it actually melts their insides and sometimes makes them explode. Evil Dr. Carrera (Ian Smith who played Harold Bishop in Neighbours) tries to stop the news getting out as the hapless residents fall victim to bizarre side effects and die in increasingly nasty ways. There are a couple of bumbling cops on the case, a weird mutant family and a host of additional characters played by actors you'll recognise from nineties Aussie television. This is pure daft comedy splatter with some crazy effects and plenty of gore. It isn't exactly a classic but it's fun and how can you pass up the chance to see Harold Bishop as an evil mad scientist?
