Genre - Horror, Thriller, Drama
Director - George A. Romero
Starring - David Emge, Ken Foree, Scott H. Reiniger, Gaylen Ross, David Crawford, David Early
Dawn of the Dead is Romero´s sequel to Night of the Living Dead and follows the adventures of four friends who barricade themselves in a mall and attempt to wait out the zombie epidemic. Besieged by wave after wave of undead and then a crazy biker gang their struggle is a desperate one to say the least. This is a fantastic film which works on several levels as a human drama, a black comedy, a satirical comment on consumer society and of course as a seriously gory horror. For me this is still the undisputed heavyweight champion of the zombie genre.

Zombies - these are the greatest zombies, slow and shambling with an unquenchable thirst for human flesh, many of them show signs of their previous life
