Jamie is sent a ventriloquist´s dummy in the mail but doesn´t know from who or why. A short while later he comes home from the local takeaway to find his wife dead, a horrible grimace frozen on her face and he believes the mysterious dummy is something to do with it. He returns to his hometown of Ravens Fair and begins investigating an old story about Mary Shaw, a ventriloquist who the townspeople believed kidnapped a young boy, in true mob rule fashion they cut out her tongue and buried her with her dolls. Jamie struggles to convince the local law and the bodies keep piling up. This comes from director James Wan and it is a real disappointment after Saw, a predictable and conventional ghost story with few scares and no gore. It is well made but we´ve seen it all before.
