Freakshow

This is supposed to be a modern retelling of the 1932 film Freaks but while it does rip off the basic premise there is little comparison. A band of murdering thieves infiltrate a freakshow and scheme to steal their money eventually settling on a plan which involves the group whore marrying the leader of the freakshow and then killing him. However they are such a nasty bunch they can't keep to the plan and end up murdering a young girl which brings a terrible revenge down on all their heads. The initial style is well established with a nice set, costumes and old fashioned music but it's all downhill from there. The script and acting are thoroughly awful, there are no sympathetic characters and the slow build up gives way to pointless nudity and a ridiculously over the top gory ending. This is boring, cringe inducing rubbish.
