Fright Night

Released - 1985
Genre - Horror, Comedy, Thriller
Director - Tom Holland
Starring - William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, Chris Sarandon, Roddy McDowell, Stephen Geoffreys

Fright Night was released in 1985, a couple of years before The Lost Boys revitalised a deader than dead vampire genre. It is a comedic re-imagining of the classic vampire film set in modern day suburbia. Charley is a typical horror obsessed teen and when a vampire moves in next door he tries to enlist the help of a washed up actor famous for playing a vampire hunter. There are some laughs, a pretty cheesy script and some vamp action. I know it isn't a great film but the nostalgia factor elevates this for me and I still like it.
