What if vampires ran the church and watched over mankind in return for some regular blood donations? Well in Perfect Creature you can find out. The film is set in an alternate universe and it has an almost steam punk style. The grubby backdrop and urban poverty prove to be a great feeding ground for a rogue vampire who seems to have lost the plot. He has decided to eat people and spread a nasty virus at the same time. For some strange reason, despite the huge risk to the vampire brotherhood, they decide to send one incompetent vamp after him (his brother). An ill judged love story gets wedged into the action involving a dour police woman. It lacks the budget to really impress in terms of setting and action. The pacing is also pretty slow and you can't help but feel that they could have made more out of the premise.

Gore - there is a fair bit of biting and a couple of violent action scenes

Vampires - fairly typical strong, fast, silent and deadly vamps
