Psycho occupies the top spot on the Internet Movie Database´s list of all time great horror films. Directed by Hitchcock and starring Anthony Perkins this is a creepy tale about a young man losing his mind and embarking on a killing spree at the remote hotel he runs. The music and direction created some of the most memorable and imitated scenes ever and this film had a profound impact on the genre paving the way for films in which the horror emanated from people rather than traditional monsters. This was shocking and ground breaking on release and although it may have lost some impact over the years it remains a fantastically tense horror film.
