Set in the 19th century a cowardly soldier (Guy Pearce) is sent to the remote Fort Spencer. When a half-starved man (Robert Carlyle) turns up with stories of cannibalism in the wilderness claiming he was the only one to escape they set out to look for survivors but is he telling the truth? This film references Native American myths about assuming the power of another man by eating his flesh and it is a darkly comic and seriously gory affair. This film flopped on release but it is original, intelligent and makes for an enjoyable thriller. Carlyle is the highlight and he gives a really frightening performance.

Gore - it is pretty gory, with several murders and lost of flesh guzzling madness
