This is a visually stunning and stylish attempt to bring the videogame world of Silent Hill to the big screen. Rose is lost in the small and deathly quiet town of Silent Hill searching for her daughter. There are awful creatures lurking here and bad things are going to happen. The movie adaptation faithfully recreates many facets of the game but it offers enough as a standalone work to satisfy a general horror audience. The cast and direction are good but it drags in places and the plot is muddled. The script could also have used some more work. You don't get the same sense of terror when you aren't controlling the protagonist but this is still worth seeing for the awesome visual style.
