Johnny Smith (Christopher Walken) is a school teacher who has a car crash and wakes from a five year coma to find he can see the future. He struggles to rebuild a life for himself but his gift weighs heavy on his conscience and when he has a vision about slimy politician Greg Stillson (Martin Sheen) he is faced with an agonising decision. This is a fantastic film featuring excellent performances from a talented cast and effective direction from David Cronenberg. It is a thoughtful and powerful film which rejects scares and gore in favour of a moody, atmospheric and deeply chilling character driven story.
