The Mutant Chronicles

This is loosely based on old role playing game and is set in the distant future telling the story of a machine from outer space which converts humans into murderous mutants. The world of the future is ruled by massive corporations who are busily fighting a war of attrition against each other, a war which looks a lot like world war one. They inadvertently disturb the machine which has lain dormant buried under the earth and it begins to spew out mutants armed with big claws and a thirst for gory carnage. A crack team of soldiers is assembled and they are sent into the heart of the danger to try and shut down the machine. The film has a comic book art style which doesn´t always work but it does feature a great cast and includes some quality CG and a fair bit of gory action. It does drag a bit and the script is far from great making this surprisingly lacklustre and only mildly entertaining.
