Laura brings her husband and adopted son to live in the old orphanage where she grew up. Her son, Simon, talks about imaginary friends and as the spooky events begin to pile up he disappears. The distraught Laura searches frantically but the police have no leads and she begins to suspect a supernatural cause is at the heart of the mystery. This is a beautifully made film with a superbly chilling setting. It is a very clever ghost story with plenty of scary moments and it will leave you feeling shell-shocked. A top class production from start to finish The Orphanage is genuinely haunting and highly recommended, just don't watch it alone.
