Wrong Turn was released in 2003 and despite mixed reviews performed fairly well at the box office. It tells the story of a group of teens in backwoods West Virginia who fall foul of a family of inbred cannibal hillbillies and get picked off in a series of gory murders. While it´s impossible to escape the feeling you´ve seen it all before, because you have, it is done well enough to make for an enjoyable throwaway blast of entertainment. Wrong Turn harks back to 70´s and 80´s survival slashers and it´s unapologetic gory fun all the way which most horror fans will appreciate.
