This return to the Alien universe for Ridley Scott is one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year. With expectations so high Prometheus will inevitably disappoint some but this blend of thoughtful sci-fi, horror and action is still a visually stunning and entertaining film. An expedition sets out for a distant moon following a map left behind by our ancient ancestors. The small crew hope to unearth the mysteries of our origin. Their agendas soon clash and the revelations are not what they expected. This is well directed, beautiful to behold and it has a solid cast, it's also a bit muddled and the script is weak in places. Prometheus may not be perfect but it is still hugely entertaining.
